Windows 10

After a long break, AMD has released a new graphics driver, Adrenalin 23.7.1 WHQL (driver version 23.10.01.45).

The new driver supports additional Vulkan extensions and introduces numerous fixes, although some known issues remain unresolved.

The problems resolved in this version are performance hitches and occasional stuttering in certain virtual reality games or applications running on Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs.

The driver update has also addressed an application crash or driver timeout that users could experience when playing AV1 video content using DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Additionally, AMD has implemented improvements to reduce high idle power consumption when using select 4k@144Hz FreeSync enabled displays or multi-monitor display configurations, such as 4k@144HZ or 4k@120Hz + 1440p@60Hz displays, on Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs.

What's fixed and improved in AMD 23.7.1 driver for Windows

Other fixes include intermittent corruption issues during the play of WWE 2K23 on specific AMD Graphics Products, like the Radeon RX 7900 XTX. Similar corruption problems were reported while playing Nioh 2 on products such as the Radeon RX 6800 XT, especially after switching windows.

However, the Adrenalin 23.7.1 WHQL release does not address all existing issues. For instance, apps may crash when playing RuneScape on certain AMD products like the RX 5700 XT. Also, corruption can still be observed around some player models when playing Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix+ on AMD Graphics Products like the Radeon RX 6900 XT.

Other issues include stuttering when playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II with Radeon Anti-Lag enabled. AMD recommends that users encountering this problem disable the Anti-Lag in the per-game settings as a temporary solution.

Finally, there are ongoing reports of the Performance Metrics Overlay displaying N/A for FPS on various games, a lost display signal after switching windows on certain Adaptive-Sync enabled displays such as the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, and higher than expected GPU Memory Utilization when using specific Record and Stream settings, such as Instant Replay.

The Adrenalin 23.7.1 WHQL release signals AMD's ongoing commitment to addressing issues and enhancing user performance.
