Using a .50 calibre ?  A bit excessive ?  And how many wounded did they leave to die ?

If wild boar are a problem, fine, then shoot them but do it properly and kill them. Apart from anything else there is a market for boar meat, it's very tasty if cooked properly.

Yeah, I was wondering about all the wasted meat. I'm not sure how they were able to swing a license for a 50 cal machine gun.

Typical American overkill. I wonder how many wounded animals they left to suffer.

Here how professionals do it in Australia.

CD would love that - Into the Camo and half a dozen, from his collection of guns of the "not" AK 47 variety and he'd be in 7th heaven

I'm glad none of these wild hogs are around where I live.

And I wouldn't use a helicopter I'd use my jeep or an ATV so I xan field dress the boar I killed and save some for me and sell / donate the rest to other people.

Wild Boar us mighty tasty especially smoked, grilled, or fried.

Feral pig hunting is the number one risk for catching brucellosis in NSW. Infections can be prevented by: wearing protective gear, safely dressing & butchering the pigs, thoroughly cooking the meat, protecting your family and protecting your dogs.

I think I will stick to farmed pork.

Curious - does wild hog have leaner meat and have a different taste/aroma?

@JohnC I am guessing every shot was definitely a kill shot and it was the unsteadiness of the helicopter that made the sharpshooter do the shoot again.

Nicely done BTW!

It has a gamier taste and is much more healthier due to the free movement as opposed to farm raised swine.

I prefer it over farm raised.
