Heard some Geese at the house today, so I grabbed my camera, and took a little hike into the fields today.
Came across a small flock of Snow Geese, and a flock of Ibis, about a mile and a half from the house.
I was able to get to within about 100 yds from them, and get a few decent shots.

Really nice pix,thamks!

Well done tg1911 - textures, pattern, movement :thumbup2: M.C.Escher would have liked these; wonder what he might have done if he had a digital camera?

Thank you, violetrose.

I don't know what Escher would have done with digital technology, given the opportunity.
The man definitely had a talent for looking at things, from a different perspective.
I really like his work.
I think he would have found straight-out-of-the-camera photography, as being too restrictive/limited.

If he could have ventured into digital photography, I imagine he would have made EXTENSIVE use of a program like Photoshop, to twist, distort, and bring out his vision, of what the image should look like. :)

Hmmm...yes...Photoshop is an amazing tool for highly skilled and creative people.(Escher is amazing but H.R.Giger is awesome)

It comes down to vision and sense of place. Thanks for posting your bird pics as a series; each one supports the other. You seem to have a close relationship with the natural environment - keep shooting! :)

I love the outdoors.
If I'm not on the computer, or at work, you can usually find me roaming the fields around the house. :)

TG... very nice pics! Have you ever been published? If not, you should be.

Thank you for the comments, rigel.
No, I've never been published.
While my photographs have improved, since I've been working on improving my technique, I don't think I'm quite up to publishing standards, just yet, but I keep practicing. :)

tg1911 Thanks for sharing technical information re your camera. It helps to have a practical benchmark.

Q. re - lighting: Were your doves shot in early morning or late afternoon direct sunlight ? There is a nice feeling of depth and dimension in that photo.  thumbup2.gif
