Define better.

Choosing a distro is very much a matter of personal preference, and will be affected by a number of factors, including .....

  • Previous experience of User.
  • Type of hardware that disto is to be run on.
  • Type of activity that computer is to be used for.
  • Availability of software for the chosen distro.

.... to name just a few.

What I'm saying, is that just because someone else prefers a particular disro, that does not mean that it's "better", or even that it will be "better" for you, since your needs may well be entirely different to theirs.

Ubuntu and Mint are like twins that don't look alike.

Ubuntu has it's fan base.

Mint has theirs.

At least Mint still supports 32 bit so it gets my vote.

Key Details of Ubuntu (32-bit)
  • Run an operating system that is based on community development
  • Last updated on 06/29/18

Key Details of Linux Mint Cinnamon (32-bit)
  • Provide an up-to-date, stable operating system for the average user, with a strong focus on usability and ease of installation.

Oftentimes it is, as Mint tends to fix bugs Ubuntu causes.

Sure Mint has its own set of issues but I have always found it more stable.

It's rather obvious preferences vary.

If you're serious, post your computer specs and how you intend to use it.

Myself, I don't use either one.

Neither suits how I want to use my computer.

Of only the two, maybe Mint, but it's been over a decade ago when I tried the pair and things change.

I even use WIndows...off line of course  :hysterical:

The Linux Mint is better for Windows operating system users, Mint looks more like Windows, while Ubuntu will be more familiar to macOS users.

Well, thank you for that stunningly insightful contribution. We'd never have guessed.....not in a million years.
