I was trying to print pages of a manual in PDF form. For this I use PDF Gear.

The problem is I am getting white borders on the documents with what looks like target cross hairs as well. I m running Windows Ten Pro 64. The printer is a Canon MG5750.

How do print a document without these things?

Thanks

Hi:

Sorry that no one has replied yet. If you haven't already found an answer, would you please..

1. Post a screenshot of your print dialog box, including the selections you made during printing.

2. Post a scan/photo of your printer output.

Any reason why you aren't using Adobe reader or the pdf reader in edge or chrome?

Sorry I took a while to reply. The picture below shows what I mean. I would like to print it but without the crosses and things on the border. Thanks

Those are registration marks for colour separations on a colour printer or an imagesetter.

See if you can find that setting somewhere in the print dialog box. It could also be in the Printer Properties somewhere for that specific printer.

You didn't post a screenshot of your Print dialog box. I suggest you post that, as well as a screenshot of your printer properties.

If all else fails, and you're unable to turn off the registration marks function, you could try making sure that output is set to grayscale rather than colour.

It's also possible that the registration marks are embedded within the body of the actual document. If so, you'd need to remove them using a program that can edit/remove them.

Can you send us a link to that manual so that we can see if we get the same issue?

You can try checking "Grayscale printing" in Properties if you can't find a Registration marks/Crop marks function anywhere. It's been ages since I worked in the prepress industry, so I can't remember in precisely which menu it's found.

And I should have been more precise: Your unwanted print is registration marks AND crop marks. If possible, both should be shut off within the Print dialog box/Printer properties, unless they're embedded in the document.

Did you search the whole Printer properties dialog box/menus to find the crop marks/registration marks or similar to disable?
