I'm also encountering this strange issue where suddenly there's no sound playing from YouTube videos. The videos themselves play fine, but there's just no sound. Oddly enough, other media players like VLC and Winamp are playing audio without any problem. I haven't made any changes or adjustments to settings since I last watched YouTube about 2 hours ago. Even after restarting my PC, the issue persists. I'm using Windows 10 version 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1766). If anyone has any suggestions or insights on how to resolve this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello and welcome to BC, @joemalick:

Each computer is unique & different.
Problems that sound "the same" on different computers may or may not be the same in terms of root cause or solution.

As such, it probably would have been better to start your own topic, for better attention & help.

Having said all that, a few recommendations for starters:

1) Try the fix described in Reply #7 - it worked for the original topic starter.

2) Update your system to 22H2 - Windows 10 21H2 reached end of support in June 2023 & no longer receives critical security & stability patches:

Press the Windows key + R to bring up the Run Box. Copy and paste the following line in the Run Box. Does a Window open as shown in the above link pen?

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneDrive\OneDrive.exe
