I realize this is quite late, but a few days ago, on March 7th, 2024, the Anti-Malware software Malwarebytes version 5.1 was officially released.

Malwarebytes: Cyber Security Software and Anti-Malware.

Disclaimer: I have NO affiliation or financial relationship with Malwarebytes Inc. but am a happily paying customer.

As such, I am only posting this for informational purposes.

Good luck! :)

I remember I used this program back in the day when I was using Windows. It was nice when they had lifetime licenses.

Thank you, Meg! :)

Yes, I already noticed that you switched from Windows to Mac and I am using Microsoft (Windows 10 Professional 64-bit Retail) Defender Antivirus, ConfigureDefender, and Malwarebytes 5 Premium with a yearly auto-renewing subscription.

But while until recently being busy helping my dad with his new desktop computer build, I, unfortunately, missed the whole official Malwarebytes 5.0 Premium announcement.

There is a comprehensive description of Malwarebytes 5 Free and Premium in the Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware | BC Downloads.

I don't think it's worth for me to get a subscription for Malwarebytes.

Thank you, Meg! :)

If you follow the Best Practices for Safe Computing - Prevention of Malware Infection, you can optionally use Malwarebytes 5 Free or NOT.

However, even though I follow the practices above, I am adamant about paying for Malwarebytes 5 Premium and Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office Essentials.

I am, personally, NOT familiar with Mac, but from my research, I know Mac has built-in cybersecurity software called XProtect.

Nevertheless, I am NOT trying to force anyone to purchase subscriptions for Antivirus and Antimalware software or Disk Imaging software.

Good luck! :)

I'll check that link out and I didn't hear about XProtect until now, thanks!
