I purchased a new iPhone 15 Pro Max iPhone a couple of weeks ago and loved it!  However, over the past couple of days, it stopped saving new photos or allowing me to edit any of the old ones on it. Over those 2 days, I have spent about 3 hours, in 2 sessions, with "senior advisers" in Apple support.  What worked at the end of Thursday was backing up and restoring my phone.

However, the same issue returned yesterday afternoon and I didn't realize it until I was trying to save several photos from a text to edit them. I could view them but was not able to save them as images or to a file.  The only thing I had done, with my phone attached to my PC, was open AnyTrans ( an iPhone transfer app) to see how many photos I had on the new phone and see if I wanted to transfer any of them to my PC.

In yesterday's phone session with Apple, we did a few diagnosing and troubleshooting steps with the same results.  The senior advisor said she would turn the issue over to the engineering group and would contact me next Tuesday with what engineering has come up with.  If it weren't for me being the dedicated photographer for tomorrow's traditional annual Christmas Eve gathering of family and friends that would be fine, but I really should continue trying to resolve the issue before this blessed event.

My question to those of you who may have experienced a similar issue with your iPhone or have any suggestions of what I may try, what can I do at this point?  Would it make sense to do another backup of my phone, but do a restore from the one that did seem to work 2 days ago?

Thank you in advance for your help!

I use nothing fruit-flavored, and you didnt mention what version of iOS you're on, but Uncle Google says you are not alone:

Your best hope is probably with Apple, but perhaps someone here will post a solution.

Also after that great advice my thoughts.

I'd return the phone for one that works correctly instead of guessing and trying things that might work.   From my chair you're only other option is to restore the phone again only to have maybe fail again in the middle or working.

Thanks for the info.  It is some consolation that it is not just my bleeping phone!

It may just come to that.  I got it from Verizon.  Having read the above-mentioned threads, it looks like this has been an issue for quite a while, so the senior advisors that I spoke to saying they had never heard of this issue might not be exactly gospel!

So, the same senior advisor at Apple support called me back and we did a somewhat different erase and restore on my iPhone.  The saving photos function works now,  after my daughter and grandson left this morning (and I had to keep borrowing other phones to take pics.)  Will have to see if it lasts!

Thanks for letting us know.

I hope the fix works permanently.

The downside, that I have seen so far, is that I had to go into purchased apps and download every one of them and am still trying to find out how much of my embedded data in each app is there or if I have to redo all of it too.
