Browser tech support scams now talking to you as part of their scare tactic

A new tech support scam was discovered that not only locks your browser stating your computer may be infected, but also has a computer generated voice trying to scare you as well. Typically, browser support scams will display a text or graphical alert that states that your computer is infected, you should call a number, and then makes it difficult for you to close the window or navigate away from it. A new alert was discovered that takes it to the next level by also playing a computer generated voice that states the following:
 

Important security message: Please call the number provided as soon as possible. You will be guided for the removal of any adware, spyware, or virus that is found on your computer. Seeing these messages means that you possibly have it installed on your computer which puts the security of your personal data at a serious risk. It's strongly advised that you call the phone number provided and get your computer scanned before you continue using your internet.

When you call the number 877-363-6747, which is displayed in alert, someone will answer who says Tech Support and speaks in perfect English without any accent. When questioned, they stated that their company name was 1 Good IT and started giving me the standard pitch of taking over my computer to see what was wrong and then fix it. Having done this before with other scams, I did not proceed further and hung up.

Though you may hear a voice speaking to you, this is still the same old scam. So stay vigilant and close any browsers that display these types of messages. If you are having a problem closing the browser, then you can start the Windows Task Manager and kill the process associated with your browser. Finally, never call the numbers listed in tech support scams unless you just want to mess with them

A BBC News article this morning is reporting that Microsoft is filing suits against the criminals.

From there they can also steal personal and financial information and install malware.

In some cases people are tricked into signing up for support via fake web ads. Others receive a direct telephone call from a technician claiming to represent Microsoft................

yeah? I had one of these about 2 years ago. I lead him on....'where's this?.... "where's that?' after a few minutes of that I said that he was full of it and mentioned I run Linux so I didn't have the things on my computer he was talking about.

This is a very shady business run out of Boca Raton, Florida. It's a company called CertSupport24.com and they claim they're 'Microsoft Certified'. They clearly are not and they're a fly by night scam company. They're affiliated with Rapid Tech Support, OMG Tech Help and the many other operations that went on in that region.

This company is owned by Christopher Vukaj in Boynton Beach. This gentleman has worked for other companies such as OMGTechHelp (which was also shut down (http://omgtechhelp.wix.com/omg-tech-help). This current company just formed an LLC on November 12th, 2014.

I just had my computer serviced by Certsupport24 and I can say for sure that this is not a scam. Due to the recent legal matters with other surrounding Technical Support companies the whole remote support operation has been tainted. These guys have the lowest prices on the market, starting at $99 for a fast one time repair. Every person I spoke with was very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose and repair my issues with email being sent and my printer connecting to a wireless connection. To defame a company that you may or may not be a consumer is not really a fair judgement. I didn't live far from there Boca Raton area so they even asked me personally if I wanted to bring the devices in for servicing. I have been assisted by Microsoft on numerous issues and they have NEVER been so helpful as these guys. Sorry but it sounds like the guy above is a disgruntled employee because I assure you as consumer I have tried every avenue of genuine real quality support and no one has extended themselves like this company to insure my computer needs was fully handled. I am a senior sql database administratior and I have witness scams like OMG and the affiliation is not even close to comparison.This company is nothing but professional and dedicated because every time I contact them it is a quick, proactive experience. Before you damage these guys name for other companies bitter sweet experience, try them out I guarantee you will be removing your statements. You can always state your opinion but as one of there first consumers there products and services are too shelf in my eyes. Rob Dean 20 year sql certified admin... I love these guys

It seems from a bit of searching that this company has been in business less than a month.

But it claims....CERT delivers support services to millions of customers globally on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year.

To answer your question the address they provided was 449 NW 35th St. Boca Raton Fl to be exact. Any questions you may have they possibly will be sure to answer don't listen to hear say give them a call. I'm just one satisfied customer who just wanted to express my opinion on this upcoming company

It's your free right to express your opinion clearly but at the same time be ethical and knowledgeable about your statements. Never once has this company been affiliated with scams or anyway mislead you or me to believe more than what was advertised. If you don't believe in the whole remote technical support services then simply don't PURCHASE it. For people like me who feel secure with there investments I felt this was the best option economically and personally.

I'm going to try to get one of my grandkids to check the place out. It's pic on Google isn't that impressive.

You would think a company with millions of customers around the globe would need more space than 1500 sq. ft.

Not to mention being able to accumulate such a large customer base in less than a month.
