Hello,

I am coming here for some assistance with an issue I have never delt with before.

I am using VLC media player which I use as my primary playback device for video files mainly .mp4 files.

I am able to play 1080p video files perfectly fine with no issue, it is only when it comes to 4k videos that I am having an issue with.

I have tested several 4k videos and they are all having the same issue, so I surmise it is not the video file itself (although still could be)

The specs of my system are as follows:

System Model OMEN by HP Laptop 17-ck0xxx
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB
Processor 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz, 2304 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
Name NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU

Is there any work around to be able to play the videos without issue or is it just the limitation to my system.
I also as a test did download 5kplayer and the same thing happened through that player as well.

any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Are these videos that are stored on your system, or are you streaming them?

The videos are currently stored locally on my hard drive.

What about convert the 4k video to 1080p or change the video format? iDealshare VideoGo can do this job.
