local windows account and sign in to OneDrive app while still local Windows?

I tried a web search but I do not want to play inference games using the very few almost articles I found.

And I do not want to ruin how the computer is to be signed onto.

Windows 10 computer WITH a local account; and there is an available Microsoft account available but is NEVER used for the computer sign-in; only the local Windows account is used.

Can user sign in to the OneDrive app and still stay in the local Windows account on the computer?

It does open things getting there that do not want.  My understanding is that is a far cry when I used to use it. Not used it in yrs. Started in 2007

I tried a test.  First, I find that the OneDrive "app" on the particular machine shows in "Account" the person's name and the person's email address, so the "app" has been signed-in for some very long time.

Being signed in to machine with local Windows account:

The machine has something,  file directory  C:\users\admin\OneDrive\Documents.

If a file is put THERE, then when sign in online to OneDrive of the person, and look in "Documents" in the online OneDrive account, that file is also become present in the OneDrive online "Documents".  If a change is made then to that file online, then very quckly that same change is found on the OneDrive\Documents folder on the computer.  The one in C drive.

Yes that's how onedrive works by design not sure why a test was needed to confirm that

Because I slow learner.  Trying to see was necessary to confirm, and to see if I understood, and might gain enough skill.  

You could have simply asked that.

OneDrive is cloud technology from Microsoft. Changes made in the cloud is reflected for all users that have access to that file.

Web search seemed like a good idea, first.  Not sure how what I found was meant, so I both asked and eventually tried a test.
