Hello lovely people at the other side,

I currently have photos from 2016 till 2023 in Google Photos but I want to move those to iCloud as I prefer to have everything at one place and everything I use is Apple.

How can I do this and is there a way to for example find pictures I that I don't want to keep remove first.

Thanks in advance.

Hi:

There are many different ways to do this, but have a look here for starters:

Check the Download and Upload Method

  1. Download from Google Photos:

    • Visit https://takeout.google.com/settings/takeout.
    • Sign in with your Google account.
    • Deselect all the services and scroll down to select only "Google Photos."
    • Choose "Next step" and pick "Export once" as the frequency.
    • Click "Create export" and wait for Google to prepare your photos archive. This may take some time depending on the amount of data.

  1. Upload to iCloud Photos:

    • Once the download completes, you'll get a notification email.
    • Sign in to iCloud.com and navigate to the Photos section.
    • Click the upload icon (cloud with an upward arrow) and select the downloaded Google Photos archive.
    • iCloud will upload your photos. This process can also take a while depending on the file size.

Remember to back up any photos you decide to delete before proceeding with the transfer.
