Information about the Store

BleepingComputer.com has recently added a Deals Store for our members to get great discounts on interesting products, online courses, and software. As there have been many questions, this topic is being created to explain how the store works, who supports it, and to explain its affiliation with BleepingComputer.com.

The Deals Store is powered by a company called StackCommerce who handles the product curation, the order fulfillment, and the customer support for the store. StackCommerce is a company that allows web sites, like BleepingComputer, to host their own store and make a small commission from the sale of an offered product. These products, though, are all selected by StackCommerce and BleepingComputer has no input into what is shown. Of course, if there is a product that is a scam we will push to have it removed, but we have not seen any like this as of yet.

Since BleepingComputer.com does not decide what products are promoted, we also cannot endorse them. Therefore, before buying any product, it is suggested that you research the product online to make sure it is something you want. So far, when we did research on the offered products in the store we have mostly seen better prices and highly favorable reviews on stores like Amazon.

Product Terms, Store Shipping, Support, FAQ

Similar to Groupon deals, each product in the store has its own terms that are set by the owner of the product being sold. This means that one product may be able to ship outside of the US, but another product may only allow ship within the U.S.A. Unfortunately, we do not have any control over this and this is fully dictated by the company whose product is being sold. Therefore, please read the terms located on the bottom of each product page.

When purchasing a product, all order fulfillments is provided by StackCommerce. They handle the customer support, payment processing, shipping of products, and returns. BleepingComputer.com has no involvement in any this and the only way to receive support is to contact StackCommerce directly. Of course, if you are not receiving support, please let us know and we will make sure you do.

Some useful links when using the store are:

Contact Support

Shipping and Tracking Information

Returns and Refunds

FAQ

Please tell us about your experience using the Store!

Though we do not operate the store, it is branded with our website, so we want to make sure your experiences using the store are not only excellent, but that the products are terrific too. As we do not have any insight into visitor's experience when using the store, we need you to let us know how good or bad your experience was.

With that said, if you have used the store, please share your experience with us. That way we can not only help you rectify your issues, but also decide if the Store is something we want to continue offering to our visitors.

As always if there are any questions, please feel free to post them here.

Grinler,

Thank you so very much for this forum thread!

I have had a fabulous experience with the BleepingComputer Deals Store!

This is the item I purchased:

Monster Digital 128GB Solid-State Portable Hard Drive: $44.99: Quantity: 1

The order was placed on October 17, 2015 and I received the package on October 22, 2015 via USPS! The packing was well done, the item inside was in perfect condition. All in all, a seamless shopping experience.

Amazon IMO gets a huge chunk of change..BC is dear to my heart; I felt like any contribution to BC was my way of thanking all volunteers that have helped me.

One added "feature" about this purchase: I was not savvy enough to know if the USB connector would be compatible with my laptop.  Bingo...all I had to do is post, right here in BC obtaining results so I could feel confident to purchase the Hard Drive!  An additional bonus to me.

Here is the link where I was helped so marvelously! :http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/593666/usb30-compatible-with-usb20-verification/

Hooray...let the shopping continue..it's the holiday time!!

Hi Grinler,

I was wondering if the wording for the following deals (Both past and future) could be changed -

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/deals/new-deal-93-off-a-cisco-certified-network-associate-ccna-and-professional-ccnp-certification-bundle/

The word Certification Bundle confuses me and has confused a few other friends as well. The confusion is that it implies that the bundle includes the exam voucher as well which it **DOES NOT**.

It would be nice if you could ask StackCommerce to do something about it :)

I can see how it would be confusing. I forwarded on this comment.

Maybe including the word course in there would be less confusing?

IE: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) & Professional (CCNP) Certification Course Bundle

Yea adding the word Course sounds good. Although, if would be best if a short note could be added so that there is no chance for ambiguity.

Thanks ^_^

Aww. That's not good. I thought Support people can do whatever they want :P

@Grinler - I think there is some kind of bug. Whenever I log in to the BC Store via FB, I cannot seem to get any kind of deals. The button to get them is disabled. Each time, I have to enable it manually by modifying the Javascript. Any idea what is happening?

EDIT - Oh and yes, I do the steps required.

Saturday April 2nd I received an email from the Bleeping Computer Deals Store for a dash cam Car Video Recorder & Camera.

Because I have been thinking about getting a dash cam for my car,  I checked out the deal and the specs for the dash cam.

Ultimately I decided against ordering it after finding another one at the Deals Store with different specs. The first one had no mention of the recording angle and does not include a USB cord. The second one did list recording angle and has the USB cord.

I ordered the 2nd one, which cost more than the one in the email.

The ordering process was straight forward.

Order confirmation said estimated delivery date Apr. 21st to Apr. 24th.

Today I received an email letting me know the order has been shipped. Priority shipping 3 days. I hope to have it on or before Saturday so we can use it when we go out of town on Monday.

I will after I use it a couple of times.

It's something I may never need but good to have just in case if I have a traffic accident that is not my fault and the other person says it is my fault.

The dash cam arrived yesterday afternoon (Friday April 8th).

Easy to set up.

The only problem I had was the micro SD card, which was included in the box, did not work. I kept getting Memory Error so no video when I put it in the car and took it for a test run.

Solution was to go to Office Depot and purchase a micro SD card. I put it in the dash cam while parked at Office Depot.

Started the car and it worked. It is very small but packs a great punch. The quality and color of the video is excellent. Clearly shows when lights are red, yellow and green.

So far, a thumbs up for the whole experience, from purchasing to receiving in a timely manner to the dash cam itself.

Grinler, thank you for the store and the opportunity to order what I have wanted at a price my budget could handle.

Do we still have the old store running with t-shirts and all (if there was ever one)? I would dig having one with my title, name and usertitle on it
