Goto the Chromebook help community and search there for audio issues. You're panicking over nothing when posting about hearing voices.

I am a student doing online school with a school provided Chromebook. Recently something happened(I'm not sure what) and now the Chromebook only plays audio if there is a headset plugged in. I'm really scared since it would cost a lot of money if we returned the laptop broken. Is there something I can do to fix this?

yes.

they say to "contact your administrator", or whomever fits that id best at your school. My old school had a directory of names and room #with phone/email for contacting about related stuff. but when in doubt, id call the library and see if they can help or redirect you to IT ppl since librarians are actually magicians in real life.

make sure you're not pairing the devices and leaving bluetooth on.. if you've done anything like that, try finding the headphones as a device from your Chromebook, and "forget" the device or remove it as a known. afterwards, type chrome://restart in your browser url and check if it works

Oh, technology can be a real puzzle sometimes, can't it? Let's see if we can untangle this web of audio issues on your Chromebook. Firstly, it's strange that your Zoom audio worked in the morning but acted up in the afternoon. A few things might be at play here: a temporary glitch in the app, a compatibility issue with your Chromebook, or even a network hiccup. To address this, try restarting your Chromebook, checking for updates, and reconnecting to your internet. As for the feedback and mysterious voice, that's certainly alarming! The feedback might be due to audio settings or speakers, so double-check those. As for the voice, it could be a notification sound or some app behaving oddly.
Check your notifications and installed apps, and consider running a scan for any potential malware. Hopefully, these steps should help resolve your issues.
