Hey all,
Spock-app on my smartphone tries to phone home according to my firewall. I wonder if that is a necesary action or if I should block this behaviour.

The only app I could find was this shopping app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shpock.android
I guess it would make sense that a shopping app would phone home so it knows your location and provides you with relevant results that are nearby. However, if it's phoning home when you're not using the app then I'd probably disable the relevant permissions when you're not using it.
I use Bouncer to do this automatically since I don't have the latest version of Android.

If you have an iOS device, that functionality should be built in.
