After trying for over an hour, I can not connect to my wireless Dell C1660w printer through my laptop running Windows 10 Pro.  It was offline, I finally got it online and a document will say "spooling" under status but always ultimately returns "printer busy or error".  Any idea how to fix this? Running the troubleshooter just leads to: "Windows could not fix the problem. Please contact your network administrator".  If I only had one of those.

I had so much trouble trying to run a wireless printer that I bought a cheap deskjet unit to pass around to do local printing rather than get everyone on various platforms to try and use a network printer that I knew the wireless route offered no solution.  Even between various versions of WIN ? the spooler just would work right for every unit trying to use the printer.  I resorted to a simple PC with a Pentium three and a parallel port besides the USB so that it could be used as a scanner on the pareallel port and printer on the USB.  The P3 runs WIN7 and does well on most printouts but the spooler has fits if the printer hits a jam, runs out of paper, ink or looses power and starts deleting files thinking they went to the printer.  I think every setup is bound to have quirks when different platforms are used .

! large problem.  You do not mention the Laptop make and complete model #    It needs it's Drivers and BIOS up to date from it's Support Page.

Has the Firmware been Updated on the Printer ?? :  https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca/product-support/product/dell-c1660w/drivers

See help page for some stuff linked to : https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca/product-support/product/dell-c1660w/docs

Possibly too old.  Drivers are 2015  though Firmware is Updatable in Win10.

HP M4 Envy laptop.  I did update the firmware on the printer earlier this evening.  Didn't make a difference. By the way, this laptop and printer worked before in a different house so I'm not sure what the difference is.

It is a M4-1115dx.  I have the IP address, it will send a document to the printer queue, it just spools and then doesn't print.
