Hope this is the right place to post this, couldn't see anything more apropos.  I also hope this doesn't seem too trivial to you guys or wasteful of your time.  I've been with you for at least a decade now and have always turned to you when something stumps me in the computer world.

Over the past few years, just for a restful lark sometimes, Steve Inman has sent his videos to my gmail account, on a regular basis.  A funny guy who almost always shows the bad guy getting what he deserves in his hundreds of available videos, dude's a hoot.

An hour ago I realized that I hadn't heard from him at all in several days, so I naturally looked back through my inbox, then through my trashcan, finding no mention of Steve Inman in either place.  Kind of freaky because I've played his unique videos maybe three or four times a week for a long time, the last time certainly no more than a few days ago.

This Velocity Micro ProMagix HD80A computer is only a couple of months old, but it's a sure thing that during that time I've watched Steve maybe upwards of fifty or sixty times, always canning the watched video to the trash.  This got my attention, so I did an in-depth search using the search feature, looking everywhere I knew to look.  I haven't emptied my trash can since I've had the computer.

As of right now, there is zero indication, anywhere on this computer, that Steve Inman has existed here at any time.  The only way I would be able to find his URL is to get it in an internet search, which is no big deal, of course. That is such an intriguing thought that I wanted to share it with you and see if I was misunderstanding something.  I have no way of knowing if Steve is the only missing incoming and won't until I run across other missing stuff.  My curiosity is knocked flat.

Thanks for all your help in the real world over these past ten or so years.  I have sent innumerable people to your site.  Jason Brooks

You say that Steve sent his videos to your gmail account; did he send the whole video as an mpg4 file (would be large, maybe 5-10gigs if it was 15" or more in length), or did he only send the link to where it was hosted and you viewed it streaming from there.

If there are no responses to my post for 3 days I remove it from my answer list. If you wish to continue the thread after 3 days please PM me.

I'm pretty sure it was just a link, kind of a string of them when there were several at a time. I'd click on the blueline on my email, and the show would come up, didn't have to download or anything like that.  I imagine to you guys it's not often you see someone as lowgear as me with these wonderful machines, but being 77 years old I've done a lot of things while others were studying the PC which didn't exist for most of my life.  It's embarrassing, but I've learned to live with it and can't thank you enough for your kind and very concerted help around these parts.  What's worried me the most with this situation is that I'm TheRoodBridge on Truth Social, have been attacked by probable feds and anti-Trump factions for years both there and at least on gmail, so this sort of non-understood phenomenon really makes me nervous.  Again, thanks for helping me figure this one out.  You guys are some of the gems of the universe.

I searched every square foot of my Gmail account, not only by hand but by using the supplied Gmail "Search" command, took a lot of trouble to do so.  Nothing pertaining to Steve Inman is currently anywhere in my Gmail account, which got my attention, so I called on your service to help me solve the problem..

I might have to buy into that solution, since I have no way of knowing much about these machines.  When something happens that has never happened before it gets my attention.  TY for your trouble.  JB

No trouble, buddy. We hang out here because it is fun and interesting. Feel free to post in any time.

Just a suggestion....in the future, highlight the link, R-click the mouse button, then choose "copy".

Now open up notepad, or a word editing app Microsoft Word, then R-click again, "paste".

Save it where-ever you want, now you have saved the link and can go back to that video any time you want, at least as long a it is hosted on their server.

There are also easy ways of saving that video itself on your computer, but it will take a lot of storage room.

If it is important to you, you can super-easy get a external drive to save the videos to for permanent storage. In fact, if there is a website, you might see if they have a video library accessible online. Some do. Then you can just choose the ones you want and proceed from there.

If you need more help, just post back.

Thank you so much for your generous and welcome response.  I'll try those things you suggested.  For a decade I have proclaim to anyone anywhere in need of computer help that this site is the best there is in the genre of computer technology.  JB
