Ah! Memories of Dominion Day!
It meant that school was out until the day after Labour Day.
It meant that Dad was getting double time and a half, to work, so ice cream was in the budget!
It meant that we would be having a big family meal on the weekend, with Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
It meant that Mom was taking us all down to Kew Beach for a picnic, a swim, and listening to the Regimental Bands playing music all afternoon.
It meant sand castles, diving through the waves, and eating peanut butter and jam sandwiches (with real sand!)
