The website reboot.pro, formerly boot-land.net, is down. Does anyone here know why and if it's temporary or shut down for good?

I haven't been able to reach reboot.pro for several days.

As of right now, Facebook is up, Twitter/X is up, reboot.pro is still down.

I was hoping someone more in the know might appear here and respond.

I researched what reboot.pro is with Startpage, and found these two websites:

http://reboot.pro/index.php?showtopic=8195 and http://reboot.pro/index.php?app=downloads&showcat=7.

Here is the VirusTotal - Home - URL results for the websites above:

https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/9545c322a4fb94bff15542b60f0292e88fe680b23117747948529e347083f713?nocache=1.

An essential fact about the websites above is that they use an HTTP connection, but NOT an HTTPS connection. :exclame:

Wow, real deep research there, gumshoe.

Obviously, this was the wrong place to ask. Nobody here knows what's going on with the reboot.pro online forum for Windows LiveCD and RAM disk enthusiasts (among other things), let alone even know what it is. Way to make a guy feel old!

To be honest I'm 43 and used windows since 1993 and this was the first time I've ever heard of this site.

Yes, I am 44 and started using Windows in 1995, and this was the first time for me as well, even with my 29 years of PC experience. However, most, if not all, modern online forums in 2024 use an HTTPS connection, but NOT an HTTP connection. :exclame:

The above indicates that the reboot.pro online forum is an older website, and with Startpage, I found some other reboot.pro links: Minimal Windows 10 Installation as RAM Disk - reboot.pro and Most Liked Content - Forum - reboot.pro.

When I checked the links above on VirusTotal - Home - URL, the results were here: Link 1 and Link 2, respectively. For some context, I also found a TenForums topic on Looking for RAMDisk Program Suggestions - Windows 10 Forums.

Hardware is NOT exactly my strong suit, so this is the first time I have ever heard of a RAM drive (also called a RAM disk). And with all due respect, for clarification, you could have been somewhat more descriptive when you posted this topic.

Because something like this would have been more descriptive: Why is the reboot.pro boot-land online forum for Windows Live CD/RAM disk down? However, if I research that phrase with Startpage, it returns these links: Link 3 and Link 4.

As my member title indicates, I am a security and web browser enthusiast, but I am NOT a "gumshoe", which is slang for "detective", and I suppose you used that expression as some sort of a joke, but I am NOT an expert on web browsers either.

@midi:

@BeigeBochs asked a very simple question:

The website reboot.pro, formerly boot-land.net, is down. Does anyone here know why and if it's temporary or shut down for good?

Perhaps I missed something.

But why was it necessary to comment:  "And with all due respect, for clarification, you could have been somewhat more descriptive when you posted this topic.."?????

As I understand the Original Post, this topic was not intended for discussion of forum members' personal experience with RAM disks or Windows Live CD.

It was a simple question about whether a specific website was down.

There was no need to complicate matters by hijacking the conversation into detailed discussions about unrelated websites and forums.

And, from my angle, there was no need for @BeigeBochs to "be more descriptive".

Just my tuppence and worth less

I was referring to the topic title and the original post because they should have included the reboot.pro online forum website description that BeigeBochs did NOT divulge until Post #7, thereby creating unnecessary guesswork for the BC forum members. :(

Oh, give me a break, Midi. This topic is for BC forum members familiar with reboot.pro and its situation (if any) and no one else. Asking "What is reboot.pro?" is off topic. Speculation about the site's security is off topic. Your not knowing what a RAM disk is is off topic.

I'm sorry, I'm just frustrated. I posted this topic hoping to find BC forum members who are also reboot.pro forum members who might know what's going on, but I'm just attracting flies.
