As well as the positioning of the treadmills - How did a fully opening window with such a low sill, less than knee height, pass building regulations in the first place?
I don't know the US buiding regs, but in the UK the regulations state a mimimum height of 1100mm (43 inches) for the wall below such a window, or other guarding (Guard rails etc).to a minimum of that height.
That's about waist height for a 6-foot tall person.
OK that gym is in the USA, but surely you building safety regulations aren't that slack on protection against falls?

According to the article, this happened in Indonesia.
Having said that, decades ago, there were MANY infant/child deaths from high-rise falls in New York City & elsewhere until building codes were changed.

NY post reported on and was silenced on social media over the now infamous Hunter Biden's laptop. I'd consider them credible when attacked by 51 Intelligence Officials and a Censorship Parade.
