FastStone Image Viewer initially creates high-quality thumbnails, but when I change folders or restart the program, FastStone Image Viewer replaces the high-quality thumbnails with low-quality thumbnails with artifacts. Completely refreshing the thumbnails fixes them until I change folders or restart the program again.

Additionally, FastStone Image Viewer sets low-quality pictures with artifacts instead of the high-quality sources as the desktop wallpaper.

I can't find any references to these problems in Google, and FastStone doesn't respond to emails. Has anyone encountered them before?

I'm looking for a photo manager to replace XnView MP, which, among many other photo managers, flashes a bright white background when I launch it. FastStone Image Viewer is the only photo manager that doesn't do that, so I want to resolve the thumbnail and wallpaper problems if I can.

Hi, then this all goes to personal preference and to try each to make sure does not do what you do not want.

If the product does the job then it does the job.

You're on your own regarding personal preference.

I asked if anyone has encountered the problems I described in my original post and for solutions to them, under the presumption that they are bugs, not features, which has nothing to do with preference.
