So the power went out yesterday while pc was sleeping and now my pc doesn't POST.

The Ez Debug LEDs show nothing wrong, but when it gets to the VGA LED it restarts.

Sometimes I get the brand name on screen and sometimes not.

EZ Debug LEDs go like this:

CPU red

DRAM yellow

VGA white

Specs:

MBD: MSI PRO B660M-A WIFI DDR4

CPU: Intel i5-12600k

GPU: Sapphire Radeon 7900 XTX

RAM: Patriot Viper DDR4 3200MHz 64GB (2 x 32GB) C16

PSU: Seasonic FOCUS-GX-1000, 80+ Gold

I have breadboarded the pc trying everything one by one, external components included. I even tried a working previous PSU I had with only cpu and ram installed but still got the same problem. I used the clear CMOS jumper on the board and also removed battery also tried another GPU that works and still the same problem.

Due to what happened I think maybe bios is corrupted. I'm trying to get some other ideas to try out since I have tried everything I could think of.

You did everything possible. I don't think it will work but pull the CMOS battery and the power cable. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Replace the battery and see if the computer boots.

Doing this not only clears the CMOS settings but also clears the capacitors

If the above works, then might I suggest that you invest in a UPS?

Twistedstickz,

You revisited the forum but left no feedback for JohnC_21, do you still need help with this.

I did try this later but still have the same problem currently waiting on a mobo to try and see if it's either the cpu or mobo.

What the LEDs would normally be telling you is that there is a CPU problem, the amber a potential problem with the RAM and the white means that the VGA is good.

Couple of questions;

What happens if you restart, access the BIOS and leave it sitting there, does the PC still turn off even when left in the BIOS.

Have you tried removing the add on GPU from the PCI-E slot on the MB and hooking up a display to the appropriate video port on the MB.

I cannot access the bios since as soon as it gets to the vga light the pc reboots even when mobo brand name shows it reboots with no time for me to press anything.

I have tried removing and connecting to MB, hdmi and dp one at a time, and I have also tried another GPU that I have still the same issue.

I have also tried replacing hdmi and dp cables and power cables and a different screen.

Also switched power outlet and cable and I have also tried on a different area of the house.

Can I just make sure that you physically removed the add on GPU + that you have a keyboard attached, the power on self test will fail if no keyboard is detected.

Because of the amber LED I would be doing this exact same test but with only the one stick of RAM populating slot A2 on the MB.

No worries but I am out of suggestions now I`m afraid  :(

You swapping in a replacement MB is the correct course of action and this based on the fact that MBs have a higher failure rate than CPUs.

Good luck and keep us posted if you will.
