Reset the PC. Tapping F11 at boot as shown in the video may or may not work on your dumpster PC.

They probably did remove the OS. I would wipe the drive and install a linux OS to see if there are any hardware issues because of the PC being put in the dumpster. You can create a bootable flash drive of Linux Mint using a program called Rufus. Does this computer have a removable battery? The model number may be in the battery compartment.

Tapping the Esc key at boot should give you a menu where you can get System Information and do System Diagnostics.

My brother's HP too faced the same issue yesterday and I was also searching for such videos, thank you for posting, I am going to try the steps out and see if it really works.

The linux install is just as easy as a Windows install.

Check out Mint Cinnamon. This computer goes back to Window 7 so I don't think it has UEFI firmware.

Interesting thread....reminds me of an experience from years ago.  My wife was working late, so I would usually drive downtown to pick her up. Everyone was gone for the day in that section of the building. Two systems guys pushing a large, wheeled dumper came in and went down the aisles taking all the laptop computers on the desks and tossing them into the dumper, then replacing with new ones (by the way, I am not making this up, it really happened).

She asked the guys if she could have some, and the one person said, "Well, I'm not supposed to, but what the heck, take as many as you want." She took 5 (couldn't carry any more) and brought them out.

I cleaned them up, removed all data, etc. and donated them to kids at our church since some parents couldn't afford to purchase new. They were running Windows XP Pro Corporate edition so passwords were easy to crack.

I bought 5 cheap flash drives and showed the kids how to save their homework to the flash drive; then the school let them use their classroom printer to print out their homework.

One of the nicer memories I have.

If there are no responses to my post for 3 days I remove it from my answer list. If you wish to continue the thread after 3 days please PM me.
