Guidelines
This topic will describe how to log on to Bleeping Computer Chat room using Trillian Basic.
Instructions
1) Select Trillian from the toolbar. Click on the Connection tab and select Manage My Connection...
2) Select Add a new connection... at the botton of the screen and click on IRC.
3) You will have 5 fields and 1 check box. Fill in as follows.
a) Field 1 - UserName This will be the name you use in the chat room.
b) Field 2 - irc.geekshed.net:6667
c) Field 3 - UserName This is you chat room identy, although you can Chacge you name once in chat.
d) Field 4 - UserName Some will be temted to use your real name. Do not. Remeber this is the internet.
e) Field 5 - User Infor Please do not put anything in these fields you do not want sent around the world.
Check box - Automatically connect to this account at startup When you start Trillian you will automaically be signed in to the server but not the main chat room.
4) To join the main chat room type /join #bleepingcomputer then press enter.
