Hello guys, I enrolled for the Comptia N+ training classes this year in view of getting certified. I googled and found out that most employers would rather prefer a CCNA to an N+ certification. Is this true?

P.S: Any free course materials or bundles would be deeply appreciated...

In today's world, there is no such thing as "free course materials or bundles" you must pay some kind of fee in order to get these materials.

It depends on what you want to do.  Yes, a CCNA is preferred over Network+, but there is a lot more time and effort to get a CCNA over Network+, which should translate into more pay.

Hi Padrino, I don't think you have to be too concerned about the CCNA certifications that employers require and obtain this certification on your own. As to reason, your employer will purchase the required certification test for you. I attended SNHU online and graduated with a 3.8  GPA BA degree without a certificate because my student advisor and professors indicated that the the employer will purchase the certification requirements test for you.

On the other hand, I do understand that you would probably want to practice for the exam that your employer may present to you later and I have been researching ways to do this myself with no luck.

I pretty much gave up on that and decided to dedicate my time to assisting members in the forums so my skills don't go to waste.

I'm not sure what your goals are here, but how about setting up your own home network and doing projects/testing?

Also, what about Cisco Packet Tracer? It's free, and quite good. I can't remember if it does tests, but I know it provides

some good simulation type exercises.
