Reset Windows Update Components
 
If you receive a Windows Update error, try solutions for common Windows Update errors with batch script i have created.
 
To automatically reset Windows Update components, download the batch script i have attached to this thread.
 
You will have to run the batch script with administrator privileges.
 
I suggest you to run the batch script with no program opened at all (everything close), because computer needs to be restarted after batch script finish executing.

Best Utility found. I tried so many things. I had fixed in the past manually but its a lot of work. Before doing it again. I thought about looking for a software like this. Boy is it perfect from beginning to finish in every step of the way. I tried fix it but that didnt fix it. This light program did it perfect. Im going to keep this one. Thanks!

What are you talking about this batch script tested multiple times if it was dangerous i would never have created you don't know nothing about what this batch script does to claim that the batch script uninstalls Windows Update service there is no code in the batch script that will uninstall Windows Update service.

@easyuu This Isn't dangerous I have looked at it's code in Notepad ++ and ran it a few times on a vista machine.

I also have had much help from freebooter who is a good guy and wouldn't damage or put anything malicious on here he has also fixed my pc a few times and given me much help.

Hi there, Witnessing this tool perform myself for a sandbox I was doing the other day, I can tell you it does not have driver-level privileges, even at elevation as Admin, to remove/unregister Windows Update Services.

Some tools are crafted, however, to stop the Windows Update Service whilst the fixes are being applied, so that Windows can make proper changes to the driver. However, removing a core Windows Service would take a tool that has driver-level/root access, because otherwise, modifications to the driver would bring back errors/revoking access.

If your post was an attempt to troll, it does not help the users on this forum, because it is misleading without evidence.

You see, there is a dichotomy in the tech industry on what is software, and what are tools. I can tell you that, but you will say the tool is dangerous. However, if FreeBooter was to craft a tool with a driver it installs without user knowledge, then the antivirus and anti-malware software I have installed would definitely go off. Being able to add or remove drivers in Windows requires root elevation, which very few techies can accomplish lest they are developers of Windows/API.

I do hope you are able to resolve the issues you are having, and if any Windows Services are corrupted, please ask for help in these forums, because there are many amazing, capable techies here that can easily help you solve your issues.

I'm not troll, I start the script with admin rights.

After it ask me to restart the win and when I wanted to start my update it generate error that windows update service can not start.

I went to services.msc and when I want to find windows update service there wasn;t.

I need it to use microsoft repair tool.

OS was Win 8.1 Enterprise!

Maybe Windows Update service already was uninstalled and by running my batch script Windows OS try to start the non existing Windows Update service and generated a error message when it fail to do so. 

Have you tried the batch script again, you can also repair Windows Update with following tools.

Download and run the Windows Update Troubleshooter.

Hello,

After attempting to run this script on a Windows 8.1 machine, I can confirm some problems.
Before, Windows Update was running, but was unable to download anything (Progress bar never going from 0%). Now, however, I am told the service is not running (after a complete restart) and as far as I can tell, the service no longer exists.

I'm confident the script is not purposefully created to break windows systems, but there appears to be a bg of some sort that may break Windows Update services somehow.

If it helps, when the script was running it was unable to stop the Windwos Update process, which hold some clue for you.

I think its antivirus program causing script to fail i have just tested the script on Windows 10 system everything works normally.

Please go to this page and download Fix Windows Update by Ramesh Kumar and save to your Desktop.
(Click on the hard drive icon with a downward arrow).

• Extract it to your Desktop.
• Then, double-click on the program and click the Fix Windows Update button.
• Reboot your computer and see if it will work now.

Certainly possible, but in my case the machine I tried it on doesn't even have anti-virus installed (fresh installation) and Windows Defender is disabled.

Personally. When I tried it. It gave me no problems whats so ever. And I have had many problems with many pcs for many different reasons. This did not cause one. I used windows 7 for this problem. If you are worried about it. You can always do it manually. I had, and like i said its hassle so I tried this and it worked like a charm. Not one problem. As far as im concern the only problem is windows. It sucks!
