Yes I've seen countless linux and windows installations ruined because of videos abd do called tech tips on do these after you install such and such.

I've seen it across multiple support venues over the last 20 years I've been helping users.

Again I've seen it across multiple tech support channels from irc, icq, tech forums, telegram, yahoo, and others. Those videos and guides broke many linux installations over the last 20 years I've been in tech support.

Arch Support will tell you that if you don't do things according to the wiki that they won't help you.

Same with ubuntu and they will tell you the same and will flat out ban you from their irc support channels and so will arch.

Using the AUR right off the bat can break a system to the point of needing to be reinstalled again and the arch linux wiki and forums really emphasize not using the AUR but only if you need it. Generally speaking your basic linux user won't be needing tge AUR. So installing yay should be something advanced users should install not your average linux user.

The same is said from ubuntu against the usage of custom ppas such as installing grub-customizer.
