Hi Jalel and :welcome: to BC, and to Linux.

As NickAu has suggested, please start a new Topic, with a suitable subject title.

First thing you should let us know is:

Q. What version of Ubuntu are you using?

Reason I ask is that

unity --reset

used to work with Ubuntu 12.04 and before, but from 12.10 onwards it was deprecated to:

unity-reset

... note the syntax, and if using, copy and paste exactly.

Also, over there (the new Topic)

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

used to fix a lot of problems, is that still so, Nick?

Anyway, get that Topic started and the Ubuntu experts will help further.

I am very good at blowing Ubuntu up and creating something radically different, but I will watch with interest.

Good luck, and enjoy Linux.
