When you look at the 360 degree picture of the UPS I have, is it sealed up?  When I was cleaning the right side of it, I thought... it's sealed up and it isn't like a desktop pc where dust can go inside like the fans?  But on the left side of the UPS, it should be the same right?  I had thought when I was wiping the side of it, I thought the dust and anything dirty was going inside the UPS but it isn't?

The strange thing was it seemed like one side of the UPS was sealed up but the other side wasn't but that isn't possible right?

I had used those walfort lens wipes on the dust area. It's fine to use that again on any area as long as it's not the part where you connect it to outlet right? However, what about the other end of it where it connects to the UPS itself? I'm sure you know what I mean by that? I previously had used just a paper towel to remove dirt and then used the walfort lens wipes. Fine to keep using more?

I'm going to buy some lysol wipes and 70% alcohol as well. But would using that be good afterwards?

A side panel or a front bezel will be removable for customer serviceable access to replace a battery check your manuals.

Hi.  I am not talking about replacing the UPS battery now.  I am talking about making sure all the dust is removed.

From the 360 view of it, there isn't anything that can go inside the UPS from the side right?

Any issue with buying some lysol wipes and 70% iso alcohol and wiping it more?  Or is the walfort lens wipes more than enough?  The area where there was a lot of dust and dirtyness was around the power cable that is connected to the UPS and mainly around the area it's connected from if you know what I mean?  I used the walfort lens wipes on that area.

Again, check your manuals for removable panels.

I'm confused why you are talking about that.  I am not replacing the UPS batteries now.  I just want to know from the 360 degree picture of it, not much dust can really go inside it right?

Oh you would be surprised, hence when I asked you to check your manual for any customer accessible service entries. Usually if the UPS has a battery there will be a removable panel and in that area can be a lot of dust accumulation.

Well I don't have the manual but it should be there online.  The thing though is if I don't open the UPS up as in removing the panels, then there isn't any concern with dust inside it right?

It's only if you open the removable panel, then if there is dust, then you remove the dust outside?

If you have the UPS on the link, you will have downloaded the Manual, which gives you a Step by Step, illustrated, instructions on replacing the battery.

You will also have noticed that it has dozens of air-vents in both sides.

I am, very seriously, wondering/doubting your motivations in this thread.

I rarely check the manual ever.  The thing is when I was cleaning the UPS in the side with a paper towel, I notice on one side of it... it doesn't even appear you could push any dust or anything into it.  Yet on the other side, it seemed to so that is why I asked this.  Then when I checked the 360 view of it... there doesn't appear to be?  Are you saying that you could push dust or say paper into these air vents?  The thing is you could take it out right say if you use a toothpick and push it out though?

I wanted to know what was the best way to clean any dust or anything from this UPS before I move it from the old apartment to the new apartment.  I already moved the UPS to the new apartment already.  I want to know if there is anything I should still do now.  I don't plan on replacing the batteries yet.  I just want to make sure there isn't dust or anything on it.

The dusty UPS is the least of the problems.

PJ: As you say "I rarely check the manual ever" and reading through this thread, it appears that you rarely carry out the suggestions offered.

One wonders why you bothered to ask, in the first place.
