During lock down, my wife had to work from home.

Our little "Student" desk was not enough, so I went to Re-Store and picked up a second hand full size computer desk.

Her work provided the laptop, docking station, full size keyboard, mouse, &c.

She has two 32" monitors on a single pole stand, fixed at the back of the desk.

The printer fills out the desk top.

The UPS sits on a wooden box on the floor, (above vacuum cleaner height!)

She has added a desk lamp, cell phone charging station, powered USB hub, . . .

To make a long story short, she has expanded to occupy her little universe.

The desk is now too small.  She wants a credenza.

I am still using the little student desk.  :busy:

Cheers!

Would a 6 foot folding table be good enough?  Now I know it is 6 foot wide but how much inches would it need to be in terms of vertically?  Does it need to be close to 2.5 feet at least?   The 4 foot folding table I have, I believe it is 2 feet only when measuring it vertically. That is the standard right?  The thing is I don't want to spend a lot on a computer desk. I just want a regular folding table that is wide and deep enough for my monitors.  But I check online and there are these computer desk where you put the monitors on the top part of the desk and below it, you can put your keyboard and mouse but is that what is recommended here?  I thought having one big folding table or desk that is wide and deep enough should be what I want?

The 4 foot folding table I have, it was fine if I put my laptop and had two 24' 1920x1200 monitors side by side... and when I mean side by side I mean like putting it next to each other and making like a reverse V if that makes sense?  So when looking from one monitor to the other, you move your neck very little so there was almost no uncomfortableness at all. The thing is with this 32' 4k monitor... and using 1 of the 24' 1920x1200 monitor, it is extremely uncomfortable even if I was just looking straight at the 32' 4k monitor only.  The thing is I always been less than 2 feet from my monitors.  Back then I might have been only 1 feet away which I read is way too close even for a 24' monitor?  The thing is I'm putting the 32' 4k monitor as far back as possible on the 4 foot table.  But I'm not sure how far away should I be sitting away from the screen? The thing is if I'm too close, it seems like I can't look throughout the 32' 4k monitor and the 24' 1920x1200 that well. But I'm a bit too far away... but my terms of far away probably means still too close to most of you... it would be hard to look at everything on the 32' 4k screen. Also how can anyone even be so far from a folding table if it isn't deep enough?

Should I post a picture of how my setup looks? The thing is I feel like even if I only had the 32' 4k monitor on my 4 foot folding table only and nothing else, it still feels uncomfortable because my folding table is not deep enough?  The thing that has me confused is how do people even stay say 3 feet or more from their monitors?  I can't do that because my folding table isn't deep enough for me to go this back

I would suggest that you write "Computer Desk" into Google, or DDG, and take a look at the possibilities.

Then visit your local Charity Recycling place and see if anything there floats your boat.

We could go endlessly round in circles, as we are now, until you see what is "actually" available to you.

Please read this bit - The knowledge will stand you in good stead throughout your life

2' is 2 foot - 2" is 2 inches.

Also, please check the (at least) 5 other, identical threads you have posted elsewhere, with the same perseverating, circular, run-on questions.....
You'll find similar/identical suggestions there, too.

As usual, this is just another mole hill turned into a mountain range.

As usual, there seems to be no end to your inquiries.
No matter what advice is given (here and elsewhere), you cannot seem to accept it or act upon it.

I hope you find a table, chair and pillow that meet your needs.

Good luck!

I want to know if anyone here has a 6 foot folding table and if so, how many monitors can you fit on it along with your laptop.

Also, how long is the depth.  For example online lot of these 6 foot folding table is 30 inches.  The 4 foot folding table I use is 24 inches in depth I believe.

Would this be big enough in terms of depthwise?  It seem to be less than 28 inches in depth whereas most 6 foot folding tables are 30 inches in depth?

Is that the exact one you have?  That looks like wood?  Or you just posted a picture of any 6 foot folding table.  That doesn't even look like it folds?

How many inches is the depth of your 6 foot folding table?  How do you arrange your 3 27' 4k monitors?  I got to assume one in the middle and the other ones are next to it sideways diagonally?  How far do you sit from the screen?

I use an old steel desk with drawers. When I ran out of room, I put a small ( solid ) table of the same height and general size next to it to handle the 'overflow'.

I've had the desk since high school and the table came from an estate. low cost on the desk ( used ) ,free for the table and all very sturdy. Lots of room, no electronics on the floor.

IMO, folding tables are light weight temporary solutions and rather flimsy by design. Yes, I've used them elsewhere.

Good advice.

I just bought a good condition (like new) computer desk for $12 CAN  at the local Goodwill. They have over 80 more in the warehouse. There are deals around if you look for them.

If I had gone sooner (two days earlier) I could have bought an adjustable computer desk for 20 CAN.

Desk is white with metal posts and frame; width is 125 cm, depth is 75 cm and is 74 cm high. Has a cable port (opening or hole) in the rear of the top.

Also got  a good office chair (like new) at the same time for $15 CAN.

Wow so those are three 27' 4k monitors.  How do you even look at the 1st monitor on the left when your laptop is right there?

So your folding table is 6 feet from left to right?  How many inches is it from top to bottom?  I assume it's 30 inches or so?  It looks like you put your monitors a good bit back on the desk and I cannot do that with the 4 foot folding table because it is 4 feet left to right and I believe 24 inches deep.  So you need to have minimum 30 inches deep to put your monitors far back right?

How many feet are you sitting away from the screens?  So you don't have any neck pain when moving your neck from left to right when looking at your 3 monitors?  It would seem like if the monitors were curved, there would be much less neck pain in general?  But I don't know if they even have 27' 4k curved monitors?  I know there are 32 4k curved monitors.
