In your second image I see the USB key listed so I don't know why Mint did not boot. Follow FreeBooter's suggestions.

Hi All, after trying many things I seem to have made some progress but I still need your help hopefully with the last step in restoring my Laptop!
(As always - I am very grateful that you axpend effort helpin novices like myself!).
OK, In desperation i replaced the SSD chip and managed to get the laptop rebooting. I wiped everything clean and re-installed Windows. All seems to be stable now which is a HUGE relief!
I can spend ages trying to reinstall Office, and all the other pieces of software I had on the rebuilt Laptop OR I can try and restore the Last CLONE I took using Macrium Reflect which luckily was on 16th June 2024!
I have attempted to use Macrium Reflect and Clone from the Removable HDD onto the Laptop 256GB SSD but run into some problems with an error 'cannot dismount Volume' (or words to that effect). I also run into problems in that the HDD is of much bigger Storage than the SSD.
(ideally i'd prefer a free program that I can download from the web - so that I don't have to mess with Legacy/UEFI toggles!].
Can you please suggest a 'simple' way that I can restore/clone from the External HDD to my Laptop SSD. If I can do that I will be as happy as Larry! (God knows who Larry is).
As always THANK YOU!!!

By clone do you mean you actually cloned an SSD to a larger HDD or did you create a "disk image file" using Macrium?

I used Macrium Reflect (when the XPS was working fine) and selected the 'Clone' Option.
I selected Source as the Normal Drive (which I understand was the SSD Drive with 256GB) and cloned onto an External Hard Drive (which is a 2TB drive).
The Clone worked OK (in as far as it went trhough the motions with no errors).
What I want to do now is use that 'Clone' Drive and re-instate it onto the SSD.
(Can I do that, either with Macrium or some other tool?)
I can send photos of how far I get but as said earlier Macrium complains (something about not dismounting Volume or that the Drives are different size).

Attach the USB external HDD and then open Disk Management. Post an image.

Certainly, see the Link below. I have taken this from Macrium.
https://www.imghippo.com/i/9NV3j1720119803.jpg
Disk 1 is the SSD (chip).
Disk 2 is the External HDD that I cloned in mid June when the Laptop was working OK.
So what I want to do is repeat in reverse - Clone (copy) Disk 2 onto Disk 1.
I run into 2 Problems with Macrium:
1. Different Size Partitions: When I try I get Insufficient space on destination disk.
2. I tried another way and had an error about 'cannot dismount Volume' (or words to that effect - will have to repeat it)
As you can see (because I have rebuilt the Laptop) I have ended with some additional partitions?
Hope you can make some sense of this! But, Thank you again.

Is Disk #1 in your Macrium Image what is now on the new SSD?
Looking at the Macrium Image it seems you have a 1.4TB partition labeled as #4 on the HDD with no drive letter assigned. Also a Dell partition labeled #5. I would uncheck #4 and #5 partitions of your HDD Disk #2 and then attempt a clone to the SSD.
But, if you have another USB HDD I would create a disk Image, not a clone, of your current SSD install in case the clone goes bad so you don't need to go through the steps of reinstalling Windows.
