Before you do an RMA, some things they wrote made me curious about the specs of your MB and M.2s.

  • 970s are gen 3, but 990s are gen 5.
  • 990 EVO is compatible with PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2
  • Your MB supports 1 gen 5x4 and 4 gen 4x4.
  • M.2_1 shares bandwidth with PCIEX16(G5)_2 and _1.
  • When M.2_1  is occupied with SSD device,  PCIE_1 will run at x8 only and _2 will be disabled.

Are either of those PCIE slots in use?

If you plug in one of the 990s to the gen 5 M.2, and plug in all 3 970s, what happens?

If I have frustrated you, then I must be a student. If I've imparted information or a skill to you, then I must be a teacher. If I've helped you, then I must be a volunteer. If I've touched your life, then I must be happy!
If you had to choose between saving just your family, or saving 10,000 GOOD people (but not your family), what would you choose?
