Hi every one, I'm new to this site. I've called my computer lots of things including
bleeping when the kids are around. I can operate it well enough when its running properly, but as soon as something ( virus ) gets in I have trouble getting rid of it.
We usually take it in and they erase everything and start over, I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can do that myself at home, just erase everything and reload all the programs........................Thanks.............ED

Viruses are nasty critters, but most of these can be gotten rid of by use of a resident Antivirus with updated definitions; reformating is an extreme measure to take for just one instance of a virus, especially considering you also have to reinstall many applications and re-update Windows each time.

You might want to begin by reading some of the tutorials dealing with basic computer security; these provide general concepts and some of them deal with specific applications designed to rid your computer of adware.

If you have any problem ridding yourself of a virus, help is just a post away here at BC.
Regards,
John

Just wanted everyone to know that I will return often. I joined today & posted a problem that I've been trying to solve for 3 months. It only took TexasAngel67 13 minutes to send me the answer. Keep up the good work.

Hello All,
I'm so green, I don't even know how to post an intro without instructions. So that's why I'm here; to learn about this stuff! Steven

Hi everyone, found this site to be very useful when I came across a particularly nasty problem (CWS SWAPX) and the comprehensive instructions here led to a successful conclusion. Thanks.

I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone at BC . I have tried many tech sites but have never received the help I have found here . It is always warm and friendly and well staffed . If the pay per fee sites were this helpful they would be worth every penny . BC Staff have never been stumped . I have always found the answer right here . Income Tax should be in soon and I will do my part . Not because I have to but because it's the right thing to do .

Thanks All , acklan (John Braud)
