It sounds like Linux might be in trouble mainly because of corruption.

Yeah he made some good points but I have hope things will turn around for Linux and open source/free-software. Hopefully sooner than latter.

Things such as the Linux Foundation spending less and less on the Linux kernel every year or Gnome hiring a business Shaman not a religious Shaman but a "business Shaman" just some for an example.

The IBM/RedHat saga - Not surprised. Been expecting it. IBM have long memories, and are STILL smarting over MyCrudSoft's 'kick in the teeth' over DOS all those years ago...

OpenSUSE - Who cares? If they want to shoot themselves in the foot, let 'em get on with it!

GNOME - That project has always been a law unto itself.....and the leadership take the view of "it's MY way, or the highway". Yeah, RIGHT.

M$ and Github - Again; been expecting it. Talk about sticking all your eggs in one basket. AI will blow up in their faces in 10-15 yrs time, then they won't be able to distance themselves from it fast enough!

Gentoo - No big deal. So what? Even they can finally see the sense in ditching the "exclusivity" angle.

The Linux Foundation? The whole thing was a farce from the word go.....just a way of 'rubber-stamping' Linux with backing from big industry so as to try and force wider adoption. Come ON....its hardly news-worthy, is it?

And as for Ubuntu & Snaps, etc - I'll give it 3 years, then Shuttleworth will pull his usual stunt of announcing a massive 'backtrack'. You watch. The guy has a history of backing the wrong horse....

Personally, I honestly couldn't care if Linux is good enough for anybody else's desktop, so long as it remains good enough to stay on mine. That's my opinion, and I stand by it. And even if it doesn't, well; it's hardly a life & death situation, now IS it? Life will continue, regardless...

If  he'd ever get to the point I might have watched the video, but I'd lost the will to live after listening to the first 5-10 minutes of his ceaselessly pointless blathering.

I did not view the clickbait to add another view to his numbers. If open source is corrupt, then let's all of us go back to what all those lemmings believe is the most infallible and trustworthy multi national tech company there is. Remember that Steve Ballmer called linux a cancer and it appears that the ignorant still wholeheartedly believe him.
